30 Days of Gratitude - Grand Canyon (16/30)

30 Days of Gratitude - Day 16

Today we are grateful for our visit to the Grand Canyon in Arizona in October 2014.

We took a cross-country road trip from Florida to California, and the Grand Canyon was by far our favorite stop along the way. We added an extra day in Flagstaff so that we could spend more time there!

It's hard to put into words the spectacular, breathtaking majesty of seeing the Grand Canyon in person. It is so immense and beautiful, its sculpted walls changing colors as the sun and shadows move across it. And it's simply peaceful to be in such a stunning spot in nature, to soak in the views, breathe in the fresh air, and be still.

We took our time walking around the top of the South Rim, marveling at the incredible view and stopping for numerous photo ops. The girls had fun climbing on small rocks and thought the canyon was beautiful.

Joshua, ever brave and adventurous, made his way down into the canyon and climbed out onto one of the freestanding rock pillars.  I held my breath the entire time he was out there. :) But he loved it! And got some awesome GoPro footage. ;)

We spent a wonderful couple of days at the Grand Canyon, and we are very grateful that we got to see a spot of such amazing natural beauty!
