30 Days of Gratitude - New York City (15/30)

30 Days of Gratitude - Day 15

Today we are grateful for our trip to New York City for New Year's Eve 2009. We had a snowy, wonderful time in the Big Apple!

We had a blast at Rockefeller Center, watching the skaters glide across the ice in front of the iconic Christmas tree and going to the Top of the Rock to take in the beautiful views of the city.

My amazing aunt got us tickets to see the half English / half Spanish version of West Side Story on Broadway, and it was fantastic!  She also recommended the Tim Burton exhibit at MOMA to us, so we visited that and were fascinated by the opportunity to get a glimpse into how he creates such amazing art and films (and the Van Goghs were awesome!).

We had a wonderful time getting to connect with family while we were there. We went to Ripley's Believe It Or Not museum with my cousins and had a silly, fun time. We also had a great family dinner at Justin Timberlake's BBQ restaurant and brunch at Sarabeth's on New Year's Day.

We checked out Times Square earlier in the day on New Year's Eve but opted out of the craziness that night. Instead, we watched fireworks from Central Park as light snow fell. It was a magical moment and a perfect way to ring in the new year.

It was a wonderful trip, filled with family, culture, great food, and holiday celebrations, and we are very grateful for those awesome memories!
