Into The Woods coffee shop is an enchanting spot in Chiang Mai's old city, just inside the Chang Phuak gate. The adorable cafe is themed around Into The Woods and its fairy tale characters. Since Into The Woods was the first musical I ever saw on Broadway, it holds a special place in my heart, and I knew I would have to visit this coffee shop.
From the second you walk up to the cafe, the front window greets you with a frosted white painting of the narrator's opening words from the play. Then you walk inside Into The Woods, and it's simply magical. There is a mural setting the fairy tale scene, a pillar made into a tree, a huge bookcase with a cozy sitting area, and even a wardrobe to step through to get to the bathroom.
The menu at Into The Woods is much wider than I've seen at many coffee shops, with unique drinks like bubblegum milk or an apple pie latte. Our rose latte and caramel popcorn latte were unexpected and quite tasty too. There's a full food menu, including delightful wontons and noodles with suki sauce that were flavorful and delicious. The menu was very reasonably-priced as well.
Into The Woods is one of the cutest, most ambient coffee shops I've ever visited. It's got a special feel to it, and it's definitely worth a visit if you're in Chiang Mai. And don't be fooled by the fairy tale theme, it's a great spot for coffee or lunch whether or not you have children. :)
